Everyone will agree that Ida Prester is a unique phenomenon on the music scene, not only domestic but much wider. From her very beginnings in Lollobrigida, with her incredible optimism and positive energy, she has been shaking the music scene, radio stations and festival stages with romantic dance hits for 18 years. Ignoring the criticism of the other people, unencumbered and always true to herself, becoming solo performer a few years ago, also started her transformation from a rebellious punk to a calmer pop indietronica style, while retaining its specific originality and consistency in performances and lyrics.
In collaboration with pocket palma, in 2020. she released the atmospheric pop-synth single “Luda” which immediately won hearts of the audience, and Ida soon left it to local producers who made three of their own versions, the first of which was released yesterday, inspired by the Stooges, “Luda (Štef’s Dog version)” with the accompanying video, which was created by Hrvoje Štefotić – Štef, who, in addition to the music, is also responsible for directing and editing the video.
“The song seems to be inspiring for other authors as well, so there are four versions and they are all totally different. It can be recognized by my vocals, which are specific, but in some versions the harmonies and atmosphere have changed …”, Ida told gloria.hr portal on which the video premiered yesterday.
PDV Records is publisher of the EP “Luda Remixes”, with the original song and 3 new versions, “Luda (Ilija Rudman Remix)”, “Luda (Time To Sleep Remix)”, “Luda (Štef’s Dog Version)”, and it comes out on February 18th, in addition to the digital format, pre-orders are also open for lathe-cut 12″ vinyl.
The executive producer of the release is the doyen of the Croatian club scene, Marian Felver, who reveals the background of the whole project: “Long waiting doesn’t need to be a bad thing, and Ida’s EP is the proof of that. The idea of promoting new single „Luda“ in an unusual place for such occasions, a nightclub, prompted various ideas. First one was suitable accompanying releases, remixes made by prestigious local producers. Ida and I agreed instantly, and the choice of musicians to play it on the dance floor imposed itself. Emotion I recognize in people has always been the most important thing to me, and that is exactly what I find, except in Ida’s, in the work of Ilija Rudman, Karel Pavlović (Time To Sleep) and Hrvoje Štefotić – Štef. Regardless of the fact that two years had passed from the initial idea to the release of the EP with remixes, it all happened at the right time, because apart from the fact that the whole project is a mix of great people, it’s also a great announcement for Ida’s upcoming album.”
With her persistent work and passion, Ida’s energetic dance melodies and minimalism in the songs, concise lyrics and unique aesthetics made her one of the icons of the Croatina pop scene.
