TAMIKREST – Tamotaït – LP / CD

Tamikrest is back with their most powerful album so far! Tamotaït allows the band to sharpen their meditative atmosphere and reflect on the Sahara and the world. The album features acclaimed Moroccan singer Hindi Zahra as well as Japanese traditional musicians.

LUCIDVOX – We Are (мы есть) – CD

Firmly established as an influential voice on the growing Russian DIY rock scene, Lucidvox’s flammable mix of atmospheric psych-rock, heavy riffs, and Russian folk mystery has already secured them great criticism and audience loyalty outside of their hometown of Moscow. We Are is their first internationally released album and the next element in their rapid rise.

ORKESTA MENDOZA – Curandero – LP / CD

Sergio Mendoza (a longtime member of Calexico) grew up on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. On Orkesta Mendoza’s third album titled Curandero, his musical fusion of that experience makes the speakers explode. Boogaloo, cumbia, rancher, and rock’n’roll.

JON HASSELL / FARAFINA – Flash Of The Spirit – DLP / CD

Composer and trumpet player Jon Hassell has been an elusive, cult musical figure for more than half a century. He is best known as a pioneer and promoter of “Fourth World” music, mixing technology with the tradition and spirituality of non-Western cultures to create what he called “classical music of the future in the color of coffee”. When released 32 years ago, the Flash of the Spirit album was a revelation, a record that had no parallel for its encompassing sound.

FRA FRA – Funeral Songs – CD

Raw and celebratory funeral music of northern Ghana. Hypnotic kologo trips. Pulsating percussion. Enthusiastic voices. Grammy-winner Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Ustad Saami) recorded this album 100% live and outdoors.

EDIKANFO – The Pace Setters – LP / CD

The first release of the debut album from 1981 by the esteemed Ghanaian band Edikanfo. It was vividly produced by British sound researcher Brian Eno. Witty, driven by horns and glazed. The LP and CD feature exclusive reviews by Brian Eno and an extensive interview with Edikanfo band leader Gilbert Amartey Amar.

KRONONAUT – Krononaut – LP / CD

Krononaut is a new band formed by guitarist and producer Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Imogen Heap, Jon Hopkins) and drummer Martin France (Nils Petter Molvær, Evan Parker). The album brings together a respected team of collaborators and guests and leaves a sonic soundtrack that channels the spectral atmosphere, ‘fourth world’ music, and beautiful, slow-burning pointillism.

USTAD SAAMI – Pakistan Is For The Peaceful – CD

Master of microtonal vocals Ustad Saami, returns with new epic work. Pakistan Is For The Peaceful is an even more impressive work, consisting of only three long songs, recorded 100% live by Grammy-winner Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Zomba Prison Project, The Good Ones). Ustad Saami is the last living surti master, the forerunner of the ancient Islamic pious music qawwali.

AMMAR 808 – Global Control / Invisible Invasion – CD

This time Sofyann Ben Youssef (aka AMMAR 808) traveled to southern India (Chennai) with a suitcase full of recording equipment. Ranging from trance to street rap, rounding it all off with the mathematical richness of Carnathian music. Futuristic syncopations meet hypnotic, timeless narratives.

LIRAZ – Zan – LP / CD

Israeli-Persian singer Liraz collaborated online with composers and musicians from Iran for her second album Zan (“Women in Farsi”). Everything had to be secret to avoid the view of Tehran’s mullah and secret police.

ADHELM – Yasam Rose – CD

Adhelm’s compositions explore spaces where persistent nature and gloomy urbanity meet. His adventurous compositional processes and experiments resonate with musique concrète, Cage’s vagueness, and Pauline Oliveros’ deep ethos of listening.

TOOTARD – Migrant Birds – LP / CD

This inventive duo of brothers from the Golan Heights – Hasan and Rami Nakhleh return with the album Migrant Birds, which releases the disco whirlwind and pays homage to the Middle Eastern dance floor scenes of the ’80s.

PULLED BY MAGNETS – Rose Golden Doorways – LP / CD

”Pulled by Magnets has momentum, titanic power, and epic reach. Wareham’s saxophone sounds almost monstrous in the foreground, but the whole material has an ancient beauty, hinting at something incomprehensibly greater than himself.”Quietus
