With their recently released single ‘Aksiom,’ the boys from Kiper announced their new EP, also named ‘Aksiom‘, a joint release by Geenger Records (GNGR150) and PDV Records (PDV080), which is officially out.
Kiper is a hardcore punk band from Zagreb that has been active on the scene for over 15 years. The lineup includes Danijel Sikora Six (bass), Pavle Vučinić (drums), Hrvoje Jagarinec Jaga (guitar), and Krešimir Certić Misch (vocals). They are among the pioneers of the local underground punk rock scene, having played in bands such as Analena, Garage Monsters, Ha Det Bra, Paruzija, and Razlog za during the ’90s. So far, they have released two albums and four EPs, sonically roaring down the road that bridges melodic and abrasive hardcore punk, as championed by bands like Naked Raygun, Hüsker Dü, and Descendents. Thanks to their sharp lyrics in their native language and local influences, parallels can also be drawn with the early works of Hladno Pivo and Fakofbolan.

As with their previous releases, this one also promises fast and energetic guitar riffs, excellent dynamics, and infectious melodicism characteristic of Kiper. The album was recorded and mixed by Ivan Jakić (Kut sobe), with production handled by Ivan and Jaga. Mastering was done by Brad Boatright (Audiosiege), and the album cover was designed by Misch.
