After two successful, spring editions, online concerts jointly organized by Radio 808 and Pozitivnog ritam received a common denominator - Magic Box, and on Saturday, November 14, the first Magic Box concert was held. Live from HUB 385, from 6 pm to midnight, six bands and performers took turns on stage to present current trends on the Croatian music scene. In the current situation of the world epidemic, Magic Box has created an almost realistic concert experience for the audience on the other side of the screen, as well as for musicians, who certainly lack live performances. Over 10,000 people watched the six hours of the program via the Radio 808 website, social networks and the application in which the audience was directly involved in the concert.
The concert was opened by the Zagreb hardcore punk trio Kevlar Bikini with their wicked vocals, massive riffs, memorable bass lines and solid drumming, and presented songs from the new album "OPT-OUTism", released on Geenger Records.
The well-heated stage was taken over by the sound of the pop-rock band Lili Gee, who has been on the scene since 2017, and have two released albums behind them, and also recently signed a new contract with Croatia records.
After them, Sara Renar took the stage with three accompanying musicians and confirmed her specific style in which she combines experimental / indie / pop, with subtle melodies and electronic and theatrical elements. After the last song, she was joined by girls from Playground Hustle to perform their first collaboration, the song "Capital", followed by a solo performance of this electronic, hip hop, experimental duo, in which Ivona Eterović (Tonota) is responsible for the instrumental part, and Marija Magdalena Slović (Megi) for the vocal part.
Perhaps the most anticipated concert of the evening was that of the band Detour, considering that it was the first performance with two new singers - Dora Mijat and Karla Krmpotić, after the departure of Gina Victoria Damjanović. Each of the new vocalists sang a part of the well-known Detour hits on an equal footing, and a particularly complex setlist included less performed songs, as well as the premiere of their new single "Šarena".
At the very end of the six-hour program, performed the electronic music producer Plazmatick, who has been on the scene for 20 years, and recently reactivated, and in a short period of time, released two albums for the PDV label.
Right at the beginning of the broadcast, Magic Box presented the first of a series of upcoming technological innovations, virtual host VR Piro 2.0, programmed in the shape of an egg, who interviewed and entertained esteemed guests through the show, paired with host Eva Požar.
